Understanding what the customer really needs and what makes our work safer, easier and more efficient: that has always been our entrepreneurial mission and the driving force behind all innovations at MEVA.
Solutions born of experience
MEVA's technical creativity has moved formwork technology into a whole new dimension. Indeed, innovation has been the company's hallmark since the very start. In 1970, only a year after start-up, MEVA used the leading trade show bauma as a platform to unveil a novelty that was to revolutionise the construction industry: the first modular panelised formwork system for crane-independent use.
This was the first chapter in a success story which, to this very day, has been shaped by a bold pioneering spirit, perseverance and, above all, a keen instinct for future opportunities and developments in the concreting sector.
Much of what is now standard in the formwork segment can be traced to inventions made in Haiterbach. And now with a string of smart innovations to its name, MEVA is continuing in its role as industry trailblazer.
At bauma 2019, MEVA will once again be presenting new, safe, efficient and technically sophisticated formwork systems and, true to the new slogan, MEVA will make "Formwork. Simple. Smart." for its customers.
The flexible wall formwork Mammut XT revolutionizes the formwork industry with flexible single and two-sided anchoring without additional attachments. The innovative system makes it possible to choose between three tying methods. With a flick of the wrist, you can turn the internal body of the smart combination tie hole. The high flexibility and simplified site logistics result in significantly shorter formwork times.
Gerhard Dingler, founder of the company, hands over the management of MEVA Schalungs-Systeme GmbH to his son Florian F. Dingler. This generational change brought continuity and focused on preparation for the future of the medium-sized family business.
The construction of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, called for simple and smart formwork solutions from MEVA. The flexible slab formwork MevaDec together with the competent planning of the MEVA engineers were decisive factors for this project. The most important benefits of MevaDec were the long service life of this slab formwork together with the alkus all-plastic facing and early stripping thanks to the MevaDec drophead.
MEVA presents the first foldable, completely pre-assembled security system StarTec-Securit. This safe equipment can be used immediately from the stack and is therefore at least as quick to assemble as conventional consoles. However, the system also offers back protection, side and front railings as well as an access hatch with integrated ladder and brace frames. This development paved the way for the SecuritBasic modular security system in 2014, which can be quickly and easily attached to various MEVA formwork systems using only flange screws.
The first 100 % wood-free facing is unveiled. The plywood panel with its weaknesses was finally replaced. The alkus all-plastic facing achieves consistently high-quality concrete results. It does not swell or shrink, neither does it absorb moisture and it does not stain - a quantum leap in formwork technology. MEVA has been using the all-plastic alkus panel for series production since 2000.
Mammut was the first large-scale industrial formwork with a permissible fresh concrete pressure of 97 kN/m². It was the first system ever to make large-scale pours possible, saving time and money. The formwork was continuously developed. In 2003, the new Mammut 350 achieved a permissible fresh concrete pressure of 100 kN/m² - over the full surface area and across the entire system.
The aluminium formwork was MEVA's first hand-set formwork for walls and slabs. It could be used universally as wall and slab formwork at the same time. Thanks to fewer standard parts, the system simplified the processes on the construction site and led to shorter times for assembly and stripping.
Inventions by MEVA that became the worldwide standard. The closed hollow profile with seam is stable and robust. The assembly lock with no losable parts aligns and joins the elements with just a few hammer blows to achieve a strong and stepless panel connection.
The MEVA panel formwork system was exhibited at bauma 1971. It was the first modular panel formwork that could be used without a crane.
MEVA Schalungs-Systeme GmbH was founded on 6 February 1970. The name is an acronym for the German word for metal processing (“Metallverarbeitung”).
